Yellow Cab Looking to Go Greener

If you have been looking around at Coos Bay, you may have noticed a different looking cab. We have a new Alero cab running around town now. It happens to get 40% better gas mileage over the average gas mileage of our other cars. 22 miles per gallon, compared to the average of 16 miles per gallon of the other cars (this is in town). It is a vast improvement over our other cars. It eases the strain on the cab driver's wallet at the end of the day when he or she has to fill up their car.

Yellow Cab is looking to get cars with better gas mileage as we start look for newer cabs to slowly replace some of our older cars. We feel we are on the right step for improving our communities environment; our world's environment; and with the less money spent on gas, we can also keep our fair down and help our customers!

Also there was an article about a cab company in Lincoln City, Nebraska (Happy Cab Company) that is looking to use natural compressed gas for their cabs. The problem was, no gas stations in Nebraska or Iowa offer natural gas. Jump-start is sought for natural gas vehicles

It is nice to see that other cab companies are going to extra mile to get out there and going green. We wouldn't be able to use natural gas as a propellant for our cars, at least not for a few years, if we could even consider it. But, we are going in the right step for overall improvement in the field of going green!
