Free Ride Monday

We have started, since the beginning of May, Free Ride Mondays. Every Monday, every 100 rides we get, the 100th (or 200th, 300th, etc.) gets a $6 credit on use. In the Coos Bay, North Bend city limits, you get a free ride! So on Monday, kept an ear out on the cab's radio, you might get that free ride!

Yellow Cab Looking to Go Greener

If you have been looking around at Coos Bay, you may have noticed a different looking cab. We have a new Alero cab running around town now. It happens to get 40% better gas mileage over the average gas mileage of our other cars. 22 miles per gallon, compared to the average of 16 miles per gallon of the other cars (this is in town). It is a vast improvement over our other cars. It eases the strain on the cab driver's wallet at the end of the day when he or she has to fill up their car.

Yellow Cab is looking to get cars with better gas mileage as we start look for newer cabs to slowly replace some of our older cars. We feel we are on the right step for improving our communities environment; our world's environment; and with the less money spent on gas, we can also keep our fair down and help our customers!

Also there was an article about a cab company in Lincoln City, Nebraska (Happy Cab Company) that is looking to use natural compressed gas for their cabs. The problem was, no gas stations in Nebraska or Iowa offer natural gas. Jump-start is sought for natural gas vehicles

It is nice to see that other cab companies are going to extra mile to get out there and going green. We wouldn't be able to use natural gas as a propellant for our cars, at least not for a few years, if we could even consider it. But, we are going in the right step for overall improvement in the field of going green!

Saint Jude's Children Research Hospital

We are doing a cooperative fund raiser with Kozy Kitchen. We are working towards raising money for Saint Jude's Childrens Hospital. On May 14th and 15th, with every $5 donated to any Kozy Kitchen, you will get a free cheeseburger, fries and a drink. You can then get a cab to deliver that food to you without any additional fees with your already donated $5 to any place in Coos Bay/North Bend city limits.

You can start pledging now if you log onto KSHR.com or Power1073.com. You can also listen to the radiothon on if you tune in at Power 107 or Hot Country K-Shore 97.3 on the 14th and 15th between 6am to 7pm.

You can help make a difference in a child's life all over the country. All the money is shared with Saint Judes' all over the world, including Oregon. A little bit from you and everyone in Coos County will go a long way.
